Bible Question:
Can you add some insight for me? When God told Moses that he will not be able to see the promised land after living his life for God and making a mistake, I just don't get that he can never enter the land but he can go see it. It seems like right until the end the Lord punished him. You can look at what I was going to give you but you will die here? Pls help me to understand. Thanks, |
Bible Answer: The reason he was not allowed in the land was to show that the promise (covenant) was to include future generations, and that Christ would be the one to present the land to Abraham and to us (gentiles) adopted sons of Abraham. Galatians 3:16-18 16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. 17 And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. 18 For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. |
