Bible Question: explain job 38:1-7 jao 40:7-9 job 42:1-6 please |
Bible Answer: Greetings IwomanofGod and welcome to the forum! In this book we have, 1) The history of Job's sufferings, and his patience under them 2) A dispute between him and his friends upon them, in which, The opponents were Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. 3) The issue of all in Job's honour and prosperity, Upon the whole, we learn that many are the afflictions of the righteous, but that when the Lord delivers them out of them all the trial of their faith will be found to praise, and honour, and glory. God had listened to all of their accusations of each other and of Him throughout the first 37 chapters. In chapter 38 it is God's turn to speak. In verses 1-7 God reveals His omnipotence to Job. He never did explain to Job why the things happened that did He just asked Job if He was ageless, powerful, wise and perfect as God. Throughout chapter 38 and 39 God asked Job repeatedly if he could do all the things that God had done. In the beginning of Chap 40 Job apologizes but God still issues him a challenge to try and do the things that He had done. The chapter continues with God unleashing another round of rebukes to Job. IN chapter 42:1-6 Job finally truly confessed and repented to God. Job still did not know why he had suffered like he did but he quietly bowed in humble submission to God and admitted that He was sovereign. If you have any questions please ask. prayon |
