Bible Question:
I am having a hard time understanding the last half of Proverbs 28:8. How can a person who gets his wealth from usury and extortion gathers it for him who has pity on the poor? Doesn't that wealthy man have no interest of poor people? What does this verse mean? |
Bible Answer: seedling, Please read all of Psalm 37. Job 21:16 "Behold, their prosperity is not in their hand; The counsel of the wicked is far from me. Ps 37:7 Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Ps 73:3 For I was envious of the arrogant As I saw the prosperity of the wicked. Jer 5:28 'They are fat, they are sleek, They also excel in deeds of wickedness; They do not plead the cause, The cause of the orphan, that they may prosper; And they do not defend the rights of the poor. Jer 12:1 Righteous are You, O LORD, that I would plead my case with You; Indeed I would discuss matters of justice with You: Why has the way of the wicked prospered? Why are all those who deal in treachery at ease? Emmaus |
