Bible Question: What was the crime that Onesimus did against Philemon? |
Bible Answer: Onesimus was Philemin's slave. Onesimus ran away from his master. He meet Paul probably in Ephesus and was converted to Chrisianity. Onesimus had been useless (Philemon 11) but now he would live up to his name which means useful or profitable. Paul appealed to Philemon out of love to not kill Onesimus as was allowed when dealing with run away slaves, but to instead return him to Paul to serve Paul while imprisoned. Prayon |
