Subject: explain chapter 3:1-4 |
Bible Note: Ruth I think your question got overlooked when you tried to clarify it. Col 3:1 Therefore if you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Col 3:2 Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Col 3:3 For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God. Col 3:4 When Christ, who is our life, is revealed, then you also will be revealed with Him in glory. Paul sees believers as being with Christ in death, burial and resurrection. As a believer in Christ you would thus be seated in Heaven seated "at the right hand of God." Paul is trying to get believers to focus on there spiritual reality instead of the external appearances which he discusses in the previous chapter. One of the things he says there is: Col 2:16 Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-- Col 2:17 things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ. |
