Bible Question: What were the circumstances surrounding Paul when he wrote Romans 8:31-39? |
Bible Answer: Greetings, The writing of Romans took place possibly in Corinth during the last leg of Paul's third missionary journey, while enroute to Rome. Romans was written to prepare the Church there for his arrival. One contributing factor to these words would have been the growing abuse that the Christians were receiving from the Roman Empire. The words he wrote in verse 31 would have rung clear and loudly to the Christians in Rome. "If God is for us, Who can be against us?" Combine that with the message of previous 7 chapters, It would have been a very moving and powerful statement. Quvmoh |
