Bible Question: would like hear respond on the subject to serve god |
Bible Answer: In John 4:23 Jesus says (But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth, for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.) About service, I think that the greatest service we can do as Christians is to worship God (and I'm not talking about church services!) Worship of the One True God to me means EVERYTHING I do, say, think should be an active worship of God. By this, give glory, honor, and credit to God. There are numerous passages in the Bible of how we can serve God, but I would definitely refer to Isaiah 1:16-17 and Psalm 51:17- these passages refer to active worship (which, like I said before I equate with service) and not the worship that we would like to DO all the time. Why?? Because God wants the heart. Not the outward appearance of "service" or "worship", but the true, spiritual worship or service that comes from loving Him with all of our hearts, with all of our soul, and all of our mind, because this is the first and greatest commandment. (Matt 22:37-38) So, for your answer- to serve God is to worship Him, with every single ounce and fiber of our being, because even in our creation, we were created for this purpose and from true worship flows perfect, acceptable service.
