Subject: Question about Jesus' gentile ancestors |
Bible Note: Greetings Emmaus! It appears that God has always chosen a lineage through which He will reveal Himself. Although Abram was a "Gentile" prior God's covenant with him, Abram was part of the Godly line of Shem. (Adam, Seth, Lamech, Noah, Shem, Abram) - isn't it interesting to consider the promise of God visit "the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me," Ex 20:5 et al. Looking at the very possibility that the oral record of the Creation and Fall of man could have been transmitted to 4 generations from father to son :Adam to Seth, to Lamech to Noah. Doesn't the Flood qualify as a punishment to the fourth generation?!! I just thought this was an interesting observation - that before God even declared this, it was in operation. mommapbs |
