Subject: Praying in Jesus' name |
Bible Note: Dear Kak, I'm sure you've heard the line from old movies where someone demands "In the name of the Law, open up and surrender! In the name of the Law is the same as saying in the authority of the Law. As christians we pray to the Father in name (authority) of the Son: Matt 6:9 "Pray, then, in this way: "Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name." John 16:24 "Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. When we pray to any one of the three Persons of the Godhead we are praying to all three. John 10:30 "I and the Father are one." The Holy Spirit is identical with the Spirit of Christ and the Spirit sent forth by the Father. Does this help? John Reformed |
