Bible Question: We know that the Angels were created by God and cannot be forgiven when they sin. Adam and Eve were also created by God-did they ever have a chance to be forgiven for their disobedience in the garden? |
Bible Answer: Only God knows their hearts and whether they had truly repented of their sin. The bible does not tell us. But Jesus death and resurrection made it possible for all to be made right with God. 1 Peter 3:18 "For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God." Though Christ died and rose again at a particular time in history, it's impact is not bound by time, but covers all throughout history, past, present and future. Thus all who believe that which has been revealed to them by God, are credited as righteous. Abraham did not know the details of God's plan for our salvation, he only knew that which God had revealed to him, yet we have no doubt that he now resides in heaven. Genesis 15:6 "Abram believed the Lord , and he credited it to him as righteousness." It was not the ritual sacrifices that the Jews made at the temple which made them clean, but Christ's sacrifice. However they believed that which had been revealed to them by God and were credited as righteous. So if Adam and Eve repented of their sin, and believed what little had been revealed to them by God at that time, then they would most certainly be credited as being righteous, washed clean by the blood of Christ. |
