AMPLIFIED 2015 | 1 Chronicles 19:5 When David was told how the men were treated, he sent messengers to meet them, for they were very humiliated and ashamed [to return]. So the king said, "Stay in Jericho until your beards grow [back], and then return." |
Subject: Should Christian men wear a beard? |
Bible Note: Outward appearance vs. the heart NASB 1 Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." You write: "Just a question, who would you rather represent in appearance The Son of man, or those who crucified Him?" When you say those who crucified the son of man, do you mean the bearded Jewish religious leaders who conspired together to have him crucified? Are you saying that God has a beard? I really doubt that Joseph had a beard when he served first in the house of Potiphar and later in the service of Phraoah. With all respect, I cannot agree with your reasons for God's alleged preference for beards. Nevertheless, I thank you for your reply. Grace to you, Kalos |
