Bible Question: what are some helpful areas in the bible to study about dealing with a disobedient child? |
Bible Answer: Proverbs 13:24 comes to mind: Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him. Actually the Bible as a whole not just one part. The Bible deals with God dealing with His children, some rebellious, some not. I feel blessed by my little girl so far has not given us any major issues. Yet, she is only twelve, but my wife and I pray over her daily and know that we have to trust in the Lord and do the best we can humanly do to raise her in a Christian home. I'm not perfect and I make mistakes daily, so I can't expect perfection from my daughter, but I can love her unconditionally and just as God disciplines us when we go wrong, we have to discipline our children. 2 Samuel 11 and 12 gives an example of a child of God doing wrong, facing rebuke, and bearing the consequence of the action even after asking forgiveness.
