Bible Answer: Tearing of clothes was "often" a sign of grief (2 Kings 6:30) or of sorrowful repentance (Joel 2:12-13). There are several other places as well such as 2 Sam 3:31-32, Job 1:20-22. Additionally, Acts 14:14 where their tearing of clothes was a way of showing strong aversion to blasphemy. What is the specific purpose of your study here? |
