NASB | 2 Kings 16:7 ¶ So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, "I am your servant and your son; come up and deliver me from the hand of the king of Aram and from the hand of the king of Israel, who are rising up against me." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | 2 Kings 16:7 ¶ So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria, saying, "I am your servant and son. Come up and rescue me from the hand of the kings of Aram and of Israel, who are rising up against me." |
Bible Question: which two kings of Judah made military alliances with syria against the Kings of Israel |
Bible Answer: King Ahaz of Judah made an alliance with Assyria. He sought rescue from the attacking armies of Aram and Israel. He took silver and gold from the Lord's House and the palace treasury and sent it as a gift to the Assyrian king.(v8) Yet it was not until Ahaz's son Hezekiah's reign that (2 Kings 18:7) Assyria conquered Israel and deported them. What I found interesting in this passage of scripture is what happened spiritually when Ahaz made his alliance with Assyria! See 2 Kings 16:10-18!) I haven't been able to find a second King of Judah so perhaps you should re-post your question! Mommapbs |
