Bible Question: I was reading 2nd Kings 15 a couple days ago, and for a specific three kings (vs 11, 15,26 ) It says ex. The otherevents of Pekahiah's reign, including all he did ARE written in the book of the annals of the kings of Isreal. All the other kings that it speaks of aswell in first kings, it puts it as a question ex. As for the other events of Pekah' reign and all he did, are they not written in the annals of the kings of Isreal? it's worded as a question instead of a statement. It's said for all but I think 3 kings, wanted to know if there was a difference |
Bible Answer: The “Annals of the Kings” are mentioned 32 times in 1-2 Kings, 17 times for Israel and 15 times for Judah. The question, “Are they not written?” seems to be rhetorical in nature. These books have never been found. Why then, would they be so prominently mentioned in scripture? Perhaps these books will yet be discovered. Hoth |
