Bible Question:
Yes...thank you for this wonderful response to my question. Is this article a commentary? If so by whom? But...for some it may be ok and acceptable to realize my unworthiness as flesh to stand before an almighty, HOLY and Righteous GOD and question that which is occuring or has occured in our lives. But for others it is not acceptable..this while they do not suppose to stand equal to GOD they do feel the right to question HIM...to boldy ask for answers about their lives. Does not a benovelent GOD speak to us concerning this? Please give biblical refrence for your answer. thanks |
Bible Answer: One does not need to assume equality with God to ask questions of Him. Indeed, consider the case of Abraham, who was known as God's "friend." (James 2:23) Yet, when Abraham learned of Jehovah's impending destruction of the entire cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, he questioned Jehovah's righteousness in destroying entire cities. (Genesis 18:22-33) God WANTS us to ask him "Why?" Only through thoughtful, meaningful prayer, followed by conscientious Bible study, do we discover the answers to "Why?" 1 John 5:14 tells us that no matter what it is that we ask ACCORDING TO HIS WILL, he hears us. Is it not God's will for us all to attain to accurate knowledge about his Kingdom's promises and blessings? The apostle Paul prayed for that very thing on our behalf, as recorded at Philippians 1:9. |
