Bible Question: In Nehemiah 2:2, was Nehemiah afraid because of the fact that King Artaxerxes saw him "downcast" (1:4) or fear from what the King's response would be of his request (2:5)? |
Bible Answer: Nehemiah was deeply grieved about the condition of Jerusalem. I'm very sure that he was afraid the king would not let him go to rebuild it. However, I think that the main reason he was afraid was because a sad countenance was a crime punishable by death. prayon |
