Bible Question: can you help me defind Zion |
Bible Answer: In Hebrew the word Zion means monument, mountain, something unmovable. The word is used in different ways in the scriptures, sometimes to designate the region in and around Jerusalem as in 1 Kings 8:1. and sometimes to designate the people or Israelites. Originally the Israelites were the only people who had a relationship with God. Psalms 147:20, so they were to be the monument on earth to represent God and to be an example for the other nations to follow who never knew the one true God. |
