Bible Question (short): Why did Jehoshaphat join Ahab? |
Question (full): Why did Jehoshaphat join Ahab? Since Jehoshaphat king of Judah is described as a 'good' king (2 Chr. chapters 17-10) and following the example of King David, why does he proceed to join wicked King Ahab against the Arameans in this verse in spite of Micaiah's testimony (1 Kings 22:17, 19-23) against it? It turns out that only by divine intervention that Jehoshaphat was saved (1 Kings 22:32; 2 Chr. 18:31) during the battle. Did he join him because of a feeling of brotherhood (1 Kings 22:4)? |
