Bible Question: I'm curious about King David's instructions to Solomon in this portion of scripture. What do you make of his requests? Was David seeking revenge? What brand of justice is this? Comments? |
Bible Answer: David was instructing Solomon to carry out justice according to the law. Joab killed the two commanders Abner and Amasa during peacetime, which according to the law and God’s commandments is murder. For some reason, David chose not to hold Joab accountable for his unlawful acts but, he knew justice must be served and trusting Solomon’s wisdom, instructed Solomon to properly deal with him according to the law. |
