Subject: why did Adonijah take hold of altar |
Bible Note: Greetings TVP! In my search I came up with an interesting connection. Abraham prepared an ALTAR and just before he was about to sacrifice his son Isaac, the angel of the Lord stopped him and Abraham saw a ram caught by its HORNS. As Abraham demonstrated, the altar is our place of worship and petition before God for His love, mercy and forgiveness. The horns of the altar represented God's provision of a substitutionary sacrifice. It is interesting to note Amos 3:14, "For on the day that I punish Israel's transgressions, I will also punish the altars of Bethel; The horns of the altar will be cut off And they will fall to the ground." Today, the Jews have no horns to take hold of! See also Rev 9:13 "Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God," Remember that the earthly tabernacle was a copy of the Heavenly Temple of God. Jesus is the horn of our salvation. We must take hold of Him! Luke 1:69 Just some more food for thought! Blessings, Mommapbs |
