Bible Question:
Greetings Believers with me in God our Father who created all things in heaven and the earth and the seas and all that there is therein, and, in His Son Jesus Christ who gave Himself for the sins of the world, All praise and glory and honor be to God who loved us so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die in our place for our sins! I'm having difficulty finding a portion of scripure that records a man sacrificing his daughter to God. Some one had asked me about it and I cannot seem to find it. In addition, I may need some help in explaining this event so any comment you have would be helpful, I think it is in Deuteronomy. Any help? Thanks Your brother in the Lord Jesus, Cyclist I will bless the Lord at all times! His praise shall continually be in my mouth! |
Bible Answer: Dear Cyclist, The passage you are looking for is in the Book of the Judges, chapter 11. It is the story of Jephthah(not to be confused with Japheth, son of Noah). Jephthah promised God that if He delivered the children of Ammon into his hand, he would offer the first living thing that greeted him when he got home. It just so happened that it was his daughter who came out to greet him. May the Grace of Our Lord be with you!! 2nd Samuel 22 |
