Subject: The Sons of God in Genesis 6:1-4 |
Bible Note: Greetings Jesusman! Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the LXX is the final authority or anything! I'm also not saying that Enoch should be part of the canon. I was simply using these as examples of how people understood the term "Sons of God" in the time of Christ. Both could be wrong! It is interesting that even the LXX doesn't use "angels" in Gen. 6, only in Job! Concerning Jude 7, can 'toutois' refer to any of the cities? Cities is feminine. Sodom is neuter. And, Gomorrah is feminine. Yet, 'toutois' is masculine. Wouldn't it have to be either feminine or neuter in order to refer to any of the cities? The only masculine antecedent in the passages is "angels". Concerning the comma, according to all of my Greek texts there isn't any comma between "Sodom and Gomorrah" and "the cities around them". Where did you find that? The only comma I found in the text is after the word "other". Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
