Bible Question:
In considering the prayer of David found in 2 Samuel 7:18-29 with the expectation that the pronouns of Deity would have a total count divisible by three, which translation would you go with? 2 Samuel 7:24, NASB, "For Thou hast established for Thyself Thy people Israel as Thine own people forever, and Thou, O Lord, hast become their God." 2 Samuel 7:24, "For You have made Your people Israel Your very own people forever; and You, Lord, have become their God." Bible Answer: Ray If my count is right the NASB translation has seven diety pronouns if you also count the word God while the NKJV has six if you count the word God. Therefore in keeping with your divisible by three you would have to go with NKJV. Of course if you aren't counting the word God then the opposite is true. How are you doing my friend? How as you Christmas? May you have a blessed New Year. EdB |
