Bible Question: What exactly does ZION mean? Who is ZION? |
Bible Answer: Hi, Kingschild - Zion is not a who but a what, the what being the city of David, i.e., Jerusalem (2 Samuel 5:7). .... Zion is used in Scripture in a number of other ways also, e.g., in reference to (1) the Temple built by Solomon, Psalm 2:6; 48:2 ..... (2) the city of God in the new age, Isaiah 1:27; 28:16; 33:5 ....... (3) the heavenly Jerusalem, Isaiah 60:14; Hebrews 12:22; Revelation 14:1. This is the place where the Messiah would appear at the end of time. --Hank |
