Bible Question (short): Is suicide a mortal sin? |
Question (full): Does the Bible specifically say anything about it being a mortal sin to kill yourself or is that a "rule" we were taught as children? I am asking this in regards to the priest that committed suicide in Ohio and was given a full Catholic burial. I thought it was a mortal sin and you were damned to Hell for killing yourself. I looked up in Bible Gateway for the keywords: suicide, kill yourself, kill oneself, take your life, take ones life. I did not find anything on this subject. Thank you. |
