Bible Question:
Makarios Thank you for the list of mountains! Now, which one should hold our focus in the days ahead? EdB |
Bible Answer: Greetings EdB! Thank you for your response! "Which mountain should be most 'important' for us today?" Good question! All of the mountains listed bear at least some significance to the events in the Bible and to those who believe in God. But among all of the mountains, the Mount of Olives should bear our attention the most, since that is where the Lord will return to fight the enemies of Israel on the Day of the Lord (Zechariah 14:4). Even with that said, we must not take our sight off of Jerusalem (Mt. Zion), since it is there that the events will occur that will precede the coming of the Lord. However, we should not "stand around" the Mount of Olives or Mt. Zion just to wait around to see what happens like the disciples stared off after Jesus when He ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9-11). We must not forget that we are comissioned by the Lord (Matthew 28:19-20) until that Day when He returns! Blessings to you, Makarios |
