Bible Note: What is the everlasting covenant that the bow represents? Genesis 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. [KJV] Everytime I see the bow I remember that God will not destroy us with a flood ever again. I am reminded that God's wrath will come with fire. 2 Peter 3:10-13 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, [12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? [13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. [KJV] We must be ready to be a witness (martyr) to everyone we meet. We must be ready to give evidence by our lives (the way we live), the way we face adversity, the way we love one another, the way we forgive, of the gospel of the Kingdom of God. When you see the bow acknowledge God as the creator and be reminded the time is short. |
