Bible Question:
Who would you say are the "sons of God" in Genesis 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. |
Bible Answer: Dear teragram - My understanding of this verse is as follows. "the sons of God" in this verse are those who are the redeemed family of God. Believers, or those of the household of faith. "the daughters of men" refers to those from among the unbelieving pagan peoples, not of the household of those who have faith and believe. What was happening is believers were inter-marrying with unbelievers, and I think God intended that believers marry only other believers. Many pagan, unbelieving women that married Solomon eventually turned his heart away from the Lord. This is the danger of believers inter-marrying with unbelievers. Thats my thoughts on this verse God bless New Creature |
