Bible Question: Genesis 4:7 Talks about mastering sin, Yet Psalms 143:2 Mentions that no one living is rightous. So how does one master sin..Please back up with scripture. Thx |
Bible Answer: Romans 6:11-14 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. It is a daily walk. Jesus taught us to pray concerning this day only. Deliver us from temptation. This is the first step, a heart crying out to God through faith in Jesus Christ, believing that His abundant Grace is available to overcome the temptation. By passing through the temptation, without falling, we thereby gain strength over "him" that is the devil and the power of sin which is in our flesh.. this sowing to the spirit day by day will give us a strength that is greater than the temptation, and it then becomes no temptation. However there are so many of these individual battles of the flesh, that we must always fight this war against the various enemies of the "land" and never let our guard down. Praying always and interceding for the saints who also are in this battle with you. May God bless you in this holy war fare and grant you one hill of conquest after the other until you rule and reign with Him in that day for ever and ever. |
