Bible Question: who did cain get married to if eve was the only woman alive? Genesis 4:17 |
Bible Answer: Gen 5:4 is key... Adam and Eve gave birth to sons and daughters. Gen 3:20 confirms that the human family came from Adam and Eve ONLY. Interestingly and in support of this, Professor Ruth Benedict and Dr. Gene Weltfish observe in the publication The Races of Mankind: “The Bible story of Adam and Eve, father and mother of the whole human race, told centuries ago the same truth that science has shown today: that all the peoples of the earth are a single family and have a common origin.” So, Cain married a sister in harmony with God's directions to Adam and Eve Adam ‘to multiply and fill the earth’.
