NASB | Genesis 37:9 ¶ Now he had still another dream, and related it to his brothers, and said, "Lo, I have had still another dream; and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars were bowing down to me." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 37:9 ¶ But Joseph dreamed still another dream, and told it to his brothers [as well]. He said, "See here, I have again dreamed a dream, and lo, [this time I saw] eleven stars and the sun and the moon bowed down [in respect] to me!" |
Subject: What about "the moon" in Joseph's dream? |
Bible Note: It could not have been Leah either, since she also died before Jacob was reunited with Joseph. Nor can I find scripture that says that Jacob ever bowed down to Joseph. Even Jacob pondered over the meaning. Genesis 49:31 There Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried, there Isaac and his wife Rebekah were buried, and there I buried Leah. Gen 37:11 Joseph's brothers envied him and were jealous of him, but his father observed the saying and pondered over it. Yours in Christ, Jim Estes |
