AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 37:28 Then as the Midianite [and Ishmaelite] traders were passing by, the brothers pulled Joseph up and lifted him out of the pit, and they sold him to the Ishmaelites for twenty shekels of silver. And so they took Joseph [as a captive] into Egypt. |
Bible Question: Why did the Lord plan that Joseph be sold by his own brothers (Genesis 37:28)? He could have been found and kidnapped by the Midianites as he searched the countryside for them (verses 14-17). Restate |
Bible Answer: Hello Restate, Scripture does not say. Deut. 29:29 (ESV) The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. Steve |
