Bible Question: Who in the old testament spent 14 years looking for a wife? |
Bible Answer: Jacob - but he wasn't "looking" for a wife 14 years. Jacob loved Rachel and thought he was marrying her during the ceremony. He discovered the following morning, however, that he married her older sister Leah. Although Jacob "worked" 14 years for Rachel, he was allowed to marry her after he had "fulfilled" Leah's week. You may want to read Genesis 29 for the complete story. |
