Bible Note: Hi BradK, I believe all scripture has some application to us today. This one I see as not only explaining how sin entered the world, but is a lesson to us on lust and pride leading to sin. saw that the tree was good for food...lust of the flesh it was a delight to the eyes...lust of the eye desirable to make one wise...pride of life The following scripture also speaks to this: 1 John 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world. So when we lust after something not meant for us and/or have pride it will be with us as with Eve. We will eat the fruit of disobedience and will encourage others to do so as well. This will open the door in our lives to many undesirable things lest we repent quickly. Just my point of view. :-) Blessings, Bows44 |
