AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 3:24 So God drove the man out; and at the east of the Garden of Eden He [permanently] stationed the cherubim and the sword with the flashing blade which turned round and round [in every direction] to protect and guard the way (entrance, access) to the tree of life. [Rev 2:7; 22:2, 14, 19] |
Bible Question: What does Genesis 3:24 mean? Why was the way to the tree of life blocked? |
Bible Answer: This verse 24 seems pretty clear. It is a result of God's attitude made plain in verse 22. Gen 3:22 Then the LORD God said, "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, to know good and evil. And now, lest he put out his hand and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever"-- Apparently, God didn't intend for man to live forever in his sinful state. He might have done so if he wasn't guilty of sin but we all know now that sin introduced death, pain and suffering into the world. Everything truly good in the world is a result from God, everything else is because of sin or the Devil. Blessings to you. Country Girl |
