Subject: Should we model after Jacob? |
Bible Note: Hi, iktoose... God's blessing does not imply that a person is a good "model." The blessing says much more about God's grace and mercy than it does about the beneficiary! No one can ever merit His blessing! There are lessons to be learned by the various people that are introduced to us in the Scriptures, that is true. However, always we must see the great Protagonist behind it all: the Lord God Himself. If our attention fails to be drawn to Him, then we have completely missed the point of His Word. Other than the offerings of Abraham in Salem there is no evidence of a pre-Mosaic tithe. The proper way to understand the Old Testament is in the light of the New Testament. In Him, Doc |
