Bible Question: What does ... "in the way" mean in Genesis 24:27? |
Bible Answer: Greetings GaLa220GaL! The Amplified Bible, another Bible that is also sponsored by the Lockman Foundation, renders this verse a little differently, and it may shed some light on your question.. Genesis 24:27 "And said, Blessed be the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, Who has not left my master bereft and destitute of His loving-kindness and steadfastness. As for me, going on the way [of obedience and faith] the Lord led me to the house of my master's kinsmen." As you can see, the Amplified Bible added the words "of obedience and faith" immediately after the phrase "going on the way" for further clarification. The NKJV renders this same phrase as "being on the way".. Excellent question! Nolan |
