AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 2:9 And [in that garden] the LORD God caused to grow from the ground every tree that is desirable and pleasing to the sight and good (suitable, pleasant) for food; the tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the [experiential] knowledge (recognition) of [the difference between] good and evil. Bible Question: Why did God put the tree of life and the tree of knowledge in the garden? |
Bible Answer: The bible never says WHY he put them there. But I believe it was for a test. "You can have everything in the garden, except the tree of knowledge of good and evil". They could have everything their hearts desired, everything was perfect, but God made man a free moral agent. If God didn't put that tree there and tell them not to eat of it, then it would be like he was forcing them to serve him, Because everything was good.
