Bible Question: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SOUL AND THE SPIRIT? DO ANIMALS HAVE A SOUL AND A SPIRIT? |
Bible Answer: God breathed his spirit into man and made it a living soul (Gen 2:7). . The soul of a man never looses its ability to feel, touch, smell, see and hear. (Luke 12:22And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; :23And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.) What was being tormented?--the rich man’s soul. Where was his soul?--in hell. The soul is the inner being that lives eternally after the death of its physical body. Therefore, the essence of salvation is of the soul and the soul that sinneth it shall die. (Eze. 18:20) In the beginning, the breath of life or the Spirit of God was breathed into the soul of man (Gen 2:7, Job 33:4). It is the Spirit of God that animates the physical body which houses the soul. Without the Spirit of God, the soul cannot and will not live in the earth or in heaven. Animals do not have souls. |
