Bible Question: genisis 1:27 so God created man in his own image.........male and female............1:31:.......and the evening and the morning were the sixth day--Genisis 2:2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; AND HE RESTED...............2:5:...........and there was not a man to till the ground........2:7:.And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul----IT SOUNDS LIKE GOD CREATED MAN ON THE SIXTH DAY AND RESTED ON THE SEVENTH AND AFTER HE RESTED IT SAYS HE FORMS MAN OUT OF DUST AND BREATHES LIFE INTO HIM....PLEASE EXPLAIN THIS TO ME BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LIKE GOD CREATED MAN ON THE SIXTH DAY AND AGAIN AFTER THE SEVENTH DAY |
Bible Answer: Dear Mamayama, Yes it does seem that man had two beginnings, but if we examine the Hebrew we find that different processes were being refered too. The English AV translates the three Hebrew words as create, make and form, 'Bawraw' (Strongs 1254)'Awser' (Strongs H6213) and 'Yatsawr' (Strongs 3335) Genesis 1:26,27 and 2:7. These three Hebrew verbs describe three very different processes. 'Create' is to separate, 'make' is to assemble, and 'form' is to mold. The carpenter produces his product by cutting, the builder by assembling and the potter by molding. On the sixth day we are separated and built, but the seventh molded. It sounds a riddle but examine Hebrews 4, the seventh day of God. I believe Paul was into all of this. To help you, please look at Isaiah 45:7 and replace the word 'create' by 'separate', 'make' by 'assemle' and 'form' by 'mold' and you will see what I am trying to explain. I assure you these are the words used in the Hebrew. We have to get into the seventh stage where the transformation into the divine nature takes place to complete the will of God. These first chapters of Genesis are very deep. Yours and His, in Him, Palmoni |
