Bible Question (short): Creatures or Man 1st Created? |
Question (full): The order of creation question: In Genesis 1 God creates the creatures then man. In Genesis 2 God creates man then the creatures. Which is it? Is God creating a new batch of creatures after Adam is in the garden, out of the garden soil? Should "And" be dropped and it assumed that 2:19-20 are a parentesis and that we should read the chronological progression to be 2:18 then immediately to 2:20? Scholars, what does the Hebrew reveal? |
