NASB | Genesis 19:14 Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, "Up, get out of this place, for the LORD will destroy the city." But he appeared to his sons-in-law to be jesting. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 19:14 So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were [betrothed, and legally promised] to marry his daughters, and said, "Get up, get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy this city!" But to his sons-in-law he appeared to be joking. |
Subject: How many daughters did Lot have? |
Bible Note: Tim, I had considered this possibility. It is interesting, however, that many Jewish scholars believe he had two daughters who perished in Sodom. By the way, the NIV and NASB don't rely on the received text. So, you must take them with a grain of salt. God bless. |
