Bible Question:
Matthew 15:22-28 I finally understood what this verse was saying but when I did I realized being a gentile that Jesus did not come here to save me but ONLY the lost sheep of Israel. It clearly states that Jesus only came to help those that are Jewish. So my question is, is it still relevant to say that Jesus died also for my sins as a Gentile? Or did he only die on the cross for those that are Jewish? Now I know that sounds silly but it sais that about his coming here and in that verse sais he even at first ignored the caanite women that was begging for him to heal her on the grounds that she was not jewish. Can you show me where in the bible it specifically sais he died for everyones's sins on this earth, Gentile's alike? When and where in the bible does he change his mind? I know that in ACTS his diciples go to the Gentiles and heal and things change then but was about when Jesus was still on the earth? That moment at his crucifixion? For All? |
Bible Answer: Good evening Edscusa, You have some very good answers for both of your questions - but let's connect them. Nineveh was a nation of Gemtiles. Jonah was in the belly of a big fish 3days and 3nights, then relented and preached to Nineveh. The city heard and repented, and was saved from destruction. The Master was in the belly of the earth... Gentiles have always been allowed and welcomed to be a part of God's chosen people. When they attached themselves to Israel in the wilderness and in the Land, they were never to be treated as anything less than full-fledged Israelites, never ever second-class citizens. See Romans chapters 9-11. Cheri |
