Bible Question:
When Pharaoh sent Sarai back to Abram, was that considered a divorce? Gen 12:19 Pharaoh asked Abram, "Whyd did you say, 'She is my sister', so that I took her for my wife? Here, then is your wife. Take her and be gone." (I tried to ask this question earlier tonight, but somehow it ended up under "answers".) |
Bible Answer: TommyS, Pharoh knew that any "marriage" to Sarao was null and void and tantamount to adultery because Sarai was already married to Abram. So he gave her back to Abram. No marriage, no divorce. Emmaus |
