Bible Question: How is this verse applicable to my daily life in this day and age? Is it a promise of the "promised land" of "walking with God"? |
Bible Answer: Greetings BenSerna! One has to be careful about how historical narratives are applied, if at all. The specifics of Gen. 12:1 were addressed to Abraham, and Abraham alone. So, there is no direct application to us today. However, there are principles which can be drawn from this verse and other passages of Scripture which can be applied to us today. For instance: 1) That historically God provides direction and guidance to individuals. 2) That God keeps His promises. 3) That obedience to God is an important aspect of our spiritual walk with God. However, there is no direct application. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
