NASB | Genesis 1:6 ¶ Then God said, "Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Genesis 1:6 ¶ And God said, "Let there be an expanse [of the sky] in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters [below the expanse] from the waters [above the expanse]." |
Subject: expanse |
Bible Note: It is literally impossible that the expanse is dry land. Read on. Verse 7 says that God seperated the waters which were ABOVE and UNDER the expanse (or firmament). Verse 8 says God called the expanse heaven. Verse 20 says that the birds flew around in the expanse. I think the only explanation is that in the original creation there was a suspended water shield above the earth's atmosphere |
