Bible Question:
Hello Angel! I cannot say that you have substantiated your answere. Knowhere in Genesis 1:1-31 does the scripture tell us that God created Satan and that "it was good." Also, darkness came first, and this is verified when we read that Satan sinned from the beginning [1 John 3:8]. How do you explain these things? Genesis 2:9 tells us that God created the tree of knowledge of good and EVIL. The tree most certainly had attributes both good AND evil. How do you explain this? Knowhere in the scripture is Satan described as "an angel previously known as Lucifer." Not in Revelation 12:3-4,7-9; not in Isaiah 14:12-20; and not in Luke 10:18. How do you explain your statement? Also, if the answere is "No," how do you explain Job 26:13 "By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent." Consider Ecclesiastes 7:13 "Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked?" |
Bible Answer: Part 1 of 2 “No, God did not create evil! God created all that exists, invisible and visible, He saw that it was good and He was pleased (Genesis 1:1-31) Genesis 3 tells us about the first human instant of disobedience--caused by the ancient serpent who was intent on destroying God's Creation. This ancient serpent is Satan, an angel previously known as Lucifer who attempted to overthrow God from His Divine Throne (Revelation 12:3-4, 7-9; Isaiah 14:12-20; Luke 10:18). From the beginning it was Satan who introduce sin/evil onto Creation (John 8:44). What we know about God is that God is Light and in Him there's no darkness: God is Holy and in Him there's no sin/evil. (1 John 1:5-7)” Hi, Stultis! Perhaps you failed to understand my post: “Knowhere in Genesis 1:1-31 does the scripture tell us that God created Satan and that "it was good." Also, darkness came first, and this is verified when we read that Satan sinned from the beginning [1 John 3:8]. How do you explain these things?” Nowhere in Genesis or any other place in the Bible does it say that God created Satan… nor have I made such statement! God did not create darkness! Please do not read into Scripture what is not from Scripture! We could go on challenging ourselves about the text of Scripture and still retain a vacuous understanding… we must surmount our ego’s appetite for “show me,“ demonstrate to me,“ “if it is not spelled-out word per word…“ We must learn to relay on the Holy Spirit’s guidance--His instructions are for edifying the Church not the individual’s ego. Satan is a liar from the beginning because he convinced a third of the angels that he could be just as God and they bought all of his lies… when this plan did not succeed he turn to Eve and convinced her that she and Adam would not die, but gain the knowledge (good/evil) of God--he even made God into a selfish control freak that did not want them to be as He is. To say that darkness is Satan, is to have a simplistic view of the spiritual beings who can become wonderful signs when they seek to obfuscate our finite understanding. Further, that view would totally contradict Scripture that states that Satan disguises himself as a creature of light (angel of light). “Genesis 2:9 tells us that God created the tree of knowledge of good and EVIL. The tree most certainly had attributes both good AND evil. How do you explain this?” This quote suggests that you believe that this reference is to a tree that contains both good and evil essences--I can understand your reasoning… but reread that very carefully… it is not that the tree contains good and evil; it is stating that the tree contained the knowledge to discern good and evil. Did you noticed what Adam and Eve did right after they ate of the fruit? The covered themselves up! Then they hid from God! Then they spewed out excuses placing the blame of their disobedience on someone other than themselves… this is the knowledge they acquired. It was not that if they ate from another fruit they would do good things or that if they ate from the fruit at a different interval they would do all good or all bad! “Knowhere in the scripture is Satan described as "an angel previously known as Lucifer." Not in Revelation 12:3-4,7-9; not in Isaiah 14:12-20; and not in Luke 10:18. How do you explain your statement?” Please follow Scripture not individual passages! Isaiah 14:12-14 12 How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, "I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred mountain. [1] 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." From the above passage, can you tell if it is speaking of a man or an angel? Can you tell if there was an attempt against the Throne? If you cannot tell… let me guide a little bit: Jesus tells us that no man has seen God--this clearly exclude any man from getting to Heaven visit the Throne and challenge God’s Authority. The Bible does not speak of a myriad of god’s contesting the Throne! Jesus and the Holy Spirit, both being God, have no reason to battle each other or the Father for the Throne! But we understand from several Biblical passages that there was a battle for the Throne. That one specific creature attempted to grasp Divine Power and Supremacy. That that specific creature had been placed above others of his kind. And that that specific creature was known by several names, which he inherited after his assault failed and he and a third of the angels, those who followed him, were exiled from Heaven. |
