Subject: Where there ever Dinosaurs ? |
Bible Note: In Job 40:15 - 15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox. 16 Lo now, his strength is in his loins, and his force is in the navel of his belly. 17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his stones are wrapped together. 18 His bones are as strong pieces of brass; his bones are like bars of iron. Hasn't this often been considered to possibly be referring to Dinosaurs, as well? I saw a footnote in my NIV that refers to this passage as speaking of 'possibly a hippopotamus or elephant', but neither of these have tails that could be compared to a cedar...? Also there are several references about 'Leviathan', but most of those appear to be speaking of a sea creature (re: Job 41:1 ; Psalm 74:14 ; Psalm 104:26 ; Isaiah 27:1); perhaps this is one of the sea-bearing dinosaurs? I'd be interested in how others read these verses. Thank you, and blessing to all who follow the Christ. |
