Bible Question: In Genesis 1:3 God says let there be light. My question is this light simply the sun or light in general. if it is just light can this be used to support the big bang theory? I believe that Genesis 1:1-2 Bring into focus the earth, and thus narrowing what is meant by light when he does so in v.3. Please share. |
Bible Answer: Hello Greatfull, That's a question I've given a little bit of thought to, and I think regardless of wether it means the light of the sun or even adding the stars and the reflected light of the moon, so to call it light in general, this would still not be evidence of the Big Bang. The only real evidence that I know of is found in the mathematics, of what is called a singularity, or what would be similar to a black whole, only unimaginably grater in scale. And the problem with the mathematics is the calculations completely break down when you get to close to a singularity. So even the math doesn't rely support the theory. And the even bigger question that the Big Bang theory doesn't even ask is. How do you get something from nothing? The only answer we have ever been given that we can rely on is. God said let there be, and there was. Maybe it went Bang when he said let there be but the bible doesn't say and if God wanted us to know he would have said so. What he does want us to know is, that we need a redeemer because we are lost sinners, and that redeemer is, Jesus Christ, our wonderful, merciful, glorious saviour. Hope this helps. God Bless. John |
